The twins were finally released from the hospital this afternoon. 1 day earlier than expected. These kids are so full of surprises. Mum was so excited to hold her first grand kids. She was kinda rusty though. lol. Hey, it's been almost 27 years since the last time she did it. Man am I old. Hahaha!

Kids were hungry tonight. Screaming from the top of their lungs. Hunter has a habit of crying whenever you put him down. That's only when he's hungry though. I think. Holiday on the other hand is a dream. He's seems to be the quiet one.

Leaving them was so hard. Couldn't get enough of watching them finally sleeping soundly on full tiny stomachs. Be back tomorrow.

I came across these pics that Russ took when she, Abba and I met up at Shang a couple weeks back. Though I was late, and left early, we still had a great time. I ordered...umm...lemme refresh my memory...garlic shrimp pasta i think. It was so good. Abba ordered resotto with mushrooms & fried pork chops ata yun. Yun talaga sarap. Most tender fried pork i've ever tasted.

behold!

Can't wait to take Ron to Green Tomato. Delish!

Reunited

Thursday, February 22, 2007

Once again, after days apart, we see the twins side by side. Yesterday Hunter was hooked to a monitor in the nursery so the nurses couldn't move him to the window. Today, we were ecstatic to see them together.

The proud parents with their babies

Our cousins Henyo, Noel, Ronnie and Rap came over to visit the twins too. We heard from them the same reactions of other people: "ang gagwapo!" "tangos ng ilong!". :)

Here's a closer look at Hunter:

ain't he a cutie too? :)

We picked up Mum from the airport before lunch. Later in the afternoon we received news that Hunter was finally out of the ICU and was now in the nursery along side with his brother. My little trooper was probably waiting for his lolly to come home. Hunter has stronger features. More brusco than Holiday. Holiday's more of a pretty boy. lol. My nephews are definitely head turners. Even people viewing other babies can't help but notice them. Teehee!

Ate was released from the hospital yesterday. But the twins will be staying longer. According to Kuya, they're getting better. Holiday no longer has an IV. So his blood glucose is normal. Hunter is still in the ICU but he was able to feed yesterday too. He still has a nasal canula (a tube placed at the baby's nostrils that allows oxygen to flow to the baby, without the pressure of a CPAP) but he's getting stronger. I wasn't able to visit my superstars yesterday. Miss them so much.

Today, things are looking much brighter. Hunter no longer has a nasal tube and he's developing an appetite just like Holiday according to Ate. He's still in the incubator with an IV but other than that, he's doing really well. His legs are usually in frog position and he's strong enough to lift his butt up. That's my trooper. As for Holiday, he had his first taste of his mum's milk. :)

Mum was supposed to arrive today. But her flight was delayed until tomorrow. Kainis. Excited pa man din ako. Oh well. She'll be here in the morning though. Her flight arrives at 10am. Early start to my day tomorrow. And I'm actually excited. :)

I woke up this morning to a deafening silence. I'm usually early on Sundays; excited to go to Church with Joey, Kuya and Ate Leslie and then enjoying a hearty breakfast after Mass. This time, I woke up a little after 12nn. I was up late chatting with some friends - Mum, Andie and Tey to name a few. Surfing the net and trying to blog. I wasn't successful with the latter. Been unable to publish my drafts coz I can't seem to get the words right. Hate it when that happens.

I went to the hospital at around 7pm to see how the twins and Ate are doing. Ate's well. Back to her usual bubbly self. Holiday is definitely looking better. Looks different again today. More color. Adorable. Gigil!

Sadly, Hunter is still in the ICU. I caught a glimpse of him though. Saw him kicking and throwing punches in the air. That's my little button. Getting stronger and stronger. How I ache to finally see him up close and next to his big brother. Kuya says they'll be staying in the nursery longer though. Sad that we won't be taking them home when Ate gets out. But...troopers those kids are. I just know it. They're our superstars.

It was hard being happy this evening though. Joey & Flor were extraordinarily quiet. And sad. It must only mean one thing, Flor's papa is not doing so well. It was hard seeing Flor so sad and trying to hold back the tears. I felt her pain and prayed hard that God make her strong. They headed back to Las Pinas to take her dad to the hospital. I pray and hope that things are ok.

As for me, I'm home alone again. So this is what it will feel like when Joey & Flor move to Las Pinas and I'll be on my own. Ikkhh. I do not like it. But, I don't have a choice. It's fine. Nothing I can't adjust to.

They're Here!!!!!!!!

Friday, February 16, 2007
12:52am

Finally, the moment has arrived. Earlier than we hoped, but still, the moment was well anticipated by all.

Upon hearing Joey say, "Let's go. She's in labor", my eyes light up and I jump for joy.
"I'm going to be an auntie!!!!!! Wooohooo!!!!!".

We rush to USTGH, praying that the twins are healthy despite being premature. We find Tito Ben, Tita Beck, Tita Glo & Tita Lai sitting on the couches outside the delivery room. Minutes later, we wait infront of the window of the nursery, peeking desperately through the blinds to catch a glimpse of the twins. Then, we hear a baby crying. "Is that ours? Is that ours?" Then a second baby starts crying. "That's ours! That's ours!". They cry angrily as if they'd rather stay in the womb. Excitement rushes up my spine. I feel blood rush to my head. Jumping once again, "They're here! They're here! Yahoo! They're here!".

Everybody, including Kuya, waits impatiently at the viewing area of the nursery. Only one emotion is felt when the nurses open the blinds: HAPPINESS
Welcome, my little super stars. Finally. :)

Boy Arellano I (Holiday): 4.5 lbs
Boy Arellano II (Hunter): 5.5 lbs

Later that morning, Joey & I go back to the hospital to see how everyone's doing. Ate Leslie was on pain killers so she was asleep most of the time. High from the drugs. lol.

Viewing time for the babies at the nursery is 12nn-2pm and 6pm-8pm. Here are some pics of the twins. Seeing them for the second time.

^Meet Hunter

^ Hunter (only from afar)

We never got the chance to see Hunter up close. By the end of the day, they moved him to the ICU. They said he was breathing a little faster than normal. So they wanted to observe more closely. Please get better my little button.

Holiday, on the other hand is a real charmer. During viewing time that evening, he had quite a number of fans. Such a cutie with that little hat of his. My little mushroom.

Went to a christening on Saturday. Or should I say, "tried" to. Was late. Really late. Traffic everywhere. Then the taxi driver pretended to make a wrong turn just so he could add more to his meter. Nearly cried out of frustration. Gusto ko awayin si manong kaya lang matanda na sya. Besides, di ako familiar sa lugar. lol. Since they were already packing up by the time I arrived, Tatang and his wife Bess invited me to eat at their place.

Didn't reach Russ. I missed the other CVG people too. Oh well. Next time. Abba was there waiting for me though. We did our usual photo shoot. lol.

Lyndsey Rahne looks so much like her daddy. Such a cutie. Rahne I mean. Not her daddy. hahaha!

Abba ate (again) with me. Couldn't resist the fish fillet with tar-tar sauce and the lechon. lol.

We headed to Galleria to watch Apocalypto. It was good. Not as sensational as The Passion of the Christ. We both agreed the movie was a lil overrated. I gagged a few times. Laughed alot. There's no serious watching when you're watching this kind of movie and when you're with Abba at the same time. Funny remarks and side comments. Couldn't help it. lol.

Best part of the night for me: Starbucks; Banoffee pie! yummeroo!

What makes Mum, Mum.

To my brothers and I, my mum is well known for her boo-boo's. Here are a few. They topped the charts for us. Makes us laugh everytime.

-----------------------------

Upon arriving at Duty Free, in the parking lot:
mum: wow...parang enchanted evening.

-----------------------------

On our way to robinson's place ermita where at the time, the new donuts shop was the latest buzz:
mum: lika, Go Let's tayo.
me: huh?
mum: bili tayo ng donuts na inuwi nyo dati. (by this time i was laughing like crazy...again).
me: mummy! Go Nuts yun. (HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!)
mum: aaaah. ayun. lika!

-----------------------------

And her latest. kwento ni kuya. sa papua. while watching tfc. kuya changes the channel:
mum: nilipat na naman! ibalik mo sa Deal Ka Na Ba!

-----------------------------

This one's not a boo-boo, but she was so funny when she did it. while waiting for a pharmacist to attend to them at mercury:
kuya: tagal naman.
mum: oo nga. (leans over the counter looking for someone..she's 4'11" btw)
mum: haller.

-----------------------------

hahaha! funny ng mummy ko noh? lol. She's coming home soon. Staying for 3 months. This is gonna be really good. lol.

settle down now kids

Went to Galleria today to buy some blank dvds and dvd casings. Met up with Andie and RJ and they introduced me to Triz. Andie's friend. RJ's "friend" too. If you know what i mean. *wink* Such a funny girl. Nakakatawa talaga. She claimed she was shy to meet me. Really didn't seem that way. lol.

Picture taking at the mall. We pretty much acted like kids today. Playing House of the Dead at Timezone. Zombies scare the s**t out of me and man did i go crazy with the gun. lol. Scary game. Hate it. But love it too. lol. Oh and I won the Super Trivia game. Beat them with a perfect 5. 3 out of the 5 questions were lucky guesses though. lol. Tsamba talaga. Then played with the kiddie stuff at Toys R Us.

And yes, pati banyo pinatulan namin.

All the while I missed my baby. But I'll see him on Sunday. Amishu mahal ko. Mmwah!
